Deficit Committee
The Deficit Committee has decided itself to documentation. It suggests that we reduce our national spending. We must reduce our spending in Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security. We have not reproduced our children as our parents and grandparents of the past. We reduced the number of children because of the cost of living. I remember the late Walter Cronkite in the late fifties or early sixties reporting on one of his Sunday news program stating that the government was raising the cost of lumber board feet. He states that by the time we, baby boomers, reached retired; we would lack the present of trees except those trees in national forests, museums, or as ornamental trees in our residents. So, we reduced the number of children to average of 1 or 2 children to compensate for the cost increase. Our government will subject us to changes because seniors will complain but for a minimum period. And the people not on retirement will not want change because they are not subject to benefits. We will not demonstrate as the French people. The French will raise the minimum from sixty years of age to sixty-five. Congress and the experts think we people will not demonstrate as the Greeks, French, or Britain. (We have become one with the Western European countries.)
How much of O’bama’s Medicare program will survive the new Congress? We must understand that they will change retirement from sixty-six for the “baby boomers” to seventy years of age. They will change our Social Security and Medicare .If you have not reached retirement age; you may not be authorized to your benefits you were promised many years ago. IF you are working, they will make you work until you are seventy. If you are retired and receive benefits, you may continue. If you are retired but do not receive benefits, you may not receive them. If you are retired, the cost will increase. There will be changes in the doctors you may visit. You will have a bureaucrat dictating who and what doctors are available. Yours and their doctors cannot refer you without the bureaucrat’s approval. They do not think that we will not form demonstrations. They are hoping that AARP and 60 PLUS will neutralize each other and leave them, the politicians, alone. We have to wait two, four, or six years before elector change, and we will forget. You must remember that governments are operated under “crisis management.” Until then, they can program legislature as they please. They are willing to accept the idea of “one-time politicians.” But, they think they can opt out and be re-elected. This is the politician’s attempt to control the voters through laws that make it illegal to stand against them. A good American will support them no matter what the law says. They will re-define the term “terrorists.” This will be anybody’s who oppose them. That is why I continue to job search. But, a problem has occurred. I understand someone does interviews but interviewers hear about the subject’s retirement; them can and will turn off as soon as they hear of the work gap. What you must return to the workplace is not a problem; but, you must.
